This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all users of the mobile application operated by tayp Germany UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“Company”, “we”, “us”).
By using the App, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of access.
1. Permitted Use
The App may only be used for its intended functionality, including:
- creating device-based and QR-based connections with other users,
- managing past connections within the App,
- sending and receiving privacy-preserving STI awareness notifications based on established connections,
- accessing informational health-related content,
- using integrated third-party services for STI testing.
Use must be personal, lawful, and non-commercial unless explicitly permitted.
2. Prohibited Use
Users must not use the App in any of the following ways:
2.1 False or Misleading Notifications
- Sending notifications known to be false or misleading
- Claiming STI exposure without an actual connection basis in the App
- Manipulating connection data to create false exposure scenarios
2.2 Harassment, Abuse, or Harm
- Using the App to harass, intimidate, shame, or target others
- Sending notifications intended to cause distress, reputational harm, or social consequences
- Repeated or abusive triggering of notifications
2.3 Impersonation or Misrepresentation
- Impersonating another person or device
- Misrepresenting identity or connection history
2.4 System Abuse or Manipulation
- Using bots, scripts, or automated tools
- Attempting to reverse engineer or interfere with App functionality
- Circumventing technical limitations (Bluetooth, QR, or connection systems)
- Exploiting deletion or creation of connections to manipulate system behavior
2.5 Illegal Use
- Any use violating applicable laws or regulations
- Any use for surveillance, tracking, or monitoring outside intended App functionality
3. Health and Notification Limitations
- The App does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice.
- Notifications are user-generated and not medically verified.
- The App must not be used to assert confirmed infection or medical status.
- Notifications must not be presented as medical proof.
4. Connection Data and Deletion
Users may create and delete past connection points within the App.
Deleted connections will no longer be displayed in the App interface and will no longer be used for future notifications.
Users must not use deletion functionality to:
- avoid responsibility for abusive or false notifications,
- manipulate connection history in order to mislead others,
- circumvent intended system functionality.
We may implement safeguards to detect abusive patterns related to repeated creation and deletion of connections.
5. Safety and Abuse Prevention
We may:
- monitor for abuse patterns in a privacy-preserving manner,
- restrict or disable features if misuse is suspected,
- suspend or terminate access to the App or specific features.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any connection data or notifications.
6. User Responsibility
Users are fully responsible for:
- the accuracy and intent of notifications they initiate,
- lawful use of the App,
- respecting the rights and dignity of other users.
7. Enforcement
We may take the following actions:
- warning the user,
- restricting specific features (e.g. notifications),
- temporarily suspending access,
- permanently banning access (including device-based restrictions where applicable).
We may act immediately where necessary to protect users, the system, or third parties.
8. Reporting Violations
Users may report suspected abuse via in-app reporting tools or support channels. Reports may be reviewed and acted upon at our discretion.
9. No Tolerance for Abuse
The App is designed for health awareness purposes. Any misuse of the system, particularly the notification or connection mechanisms, is strictly prohibited.
10. Relationship to Other Documents
This AUP is part of and supplements:
In case of conflict, applicable law prevails.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
